Ward Kay is a playwright who has had about 20 productions of his plays performed around the country. His play “The Bride in Blackout” won Best Playlab Production at the Pittsburgh New Works Festival. His short play “Three Times a Lady” has won awards from the NVTA and the Little Theatre of Alexandria. His full-length play “Silk Purse Project” was a finalist in the Gerry Marshall Theater New Works Festival and a semi-finalist in the Screencraft Stage Play Competition. At The Players in Detroit, his plays “Three Times a Lady” and “Looking for Love” have been selected for the end of the year showcase. His play “Oral Histories” was cited as one of the best fringe shows ever by a reviewer from the DC Theatre Scene. He is a proud member of the Dramatist Guild. Ward co-founded Nova Nightsky Theater and was its first Artistic Director. He has directed more than 20 productions.
